Canucks look at Jannik Hansen on top PP unit
Jannik Hansen - W - Vancouver Canucks
Jan. 16, 2013 - 5:15 PM ET

Jannik Hansen practiced with Vancouver's top power-play unit on Wednesday.

He joined the Sedin twins up front while Alexander Edler and Jason Garrison manned the points. Hansen didn't put much stock into the opportunity because it's just a training camp audition, but coach Alain Vigneault sees the move as a possible fit moving forward. "Jannik does make a lot of sense," Vigneault stated. "Throughout the years at different times, we have used him with the twins and it has worked out for us. Jannik has more skill than I think people give him credit for but I also think he doesn't mind going to those tough areas. He's a real solid net presence and the fact he's a right-handed shot helps." Hansen averaged a mere eight seconds of power-play time per game last season, so a promotion to the top line would give his fantasy value a real jolt. He scored 16 times and added 23 assists in 82 games in 2011-12.
