Wade Redden has reportedly been placed on waivers, according to multiple sources.
The Rangers are expected to buy out his contract following the decision of the NHL and NHLPA to allow teams to use one of their compliance buyouts prior to the start of the 2013 campaign. Redden has $10 million and two seasons remaining on a six-year, $39 million contract. He has played the past two seasons in the AHL and will be able to sign with any team as early as Thursday at noon once he clears waivers.
