Blues GM Doug Armstrong has reportedly received a five-year contract extension.
That will take Armstrong through the 2017-18 campaign. He's overseen the Blues rebuilding effort, which took a big step forward last season when the team won the Central Division and earned the second seed. The Blues made it to the Western Conference Semifinals before being swept by the eventual Stanley Cup winners, the Los Angeles Kings. Now that their younger players have some postseason experience under their belt, the Blues could enjoy a longer playoff run in 2013.
