James Neal to play as a rover on Pens' PP
James Neal - W - Pittsburgh Penguins

James Neal occupied a different role on Pittsburgh's power play Monday as a bit of roaming point man.

"It's not like a classic point position," Neal said. "But it's definitely an adjustment for me. Kind of a rover." Coach Dan Bylsma said "the idea is to open up the backdoor pass" for Neal from Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin. The Penguins used a similar formula with Ryan Whitney sneaking in from the point in 2006-07. Neal led the league with 18 power-play markers last season.
