Blue Jays acquired OF Fred Lewis from the Giants for a player to be named later or cash considerations; optioned him to Triple-A Fresno.
The San Francisco Chronicle's Henry Schulman was all over the story. Lewis, 29, should cut into Jose Bautista's outfield playing time once he's healthy, which will be a welcome change for a majority of Jays fans. The speedster hit .258/.348/.390 in 295 at-bats last year and is a plus defensive outfielder. He's got a few more days of recovery from a rib cage injury.
