Ryan Kesler (shoulder/wrist) could be back sooner than originally thought.
Kesler had off-season surgery on his shoulder and wrist and was progressing slowly but GM Mike Gillis said on Sunday that Kesler has had three very good weeks. "His spot isn't going to be vacant for a long period of time," Gillis said. "Ryan's had a really good three weeks, although you never have a definite time table on these things. He's a competitor and I know he wants to play." This is good news for Kesler owners and we suggest he is worth a late flier this season, especially in keeper leagues.
