Tom Poti: 'I never closed the book on myself'

Tom Poti on Thursday skated in a Capitals jersey for the first time since suffering a fractured pelvis Dec. 21, 2011.
The 35-year-old defenseman is still probably a longshot to make the Capitals' roster, but all he wants is a chance. "I never closed the book on myself," Poti said . "I could have sat at home and collected a paycheck and been happy. But hockey is what I love to do. It's in my blood and I want to play for as long as I can."
