The Calgary Flames will be looking to pick up a few extra points this season by performing better in the shootout.
The Flames ranked 29th in the NHL with a 3-9 shootout record last season. Winning a few more shootouts this season could be the difference between making the playoffs and falling short for Calgary. Alex Tanguay thinks the team's off-season additions will help in that regard. "If you look at our team, skill-wise, I believe -- with (Sven) Baertschi, Hudler -- a proven goal-scorer in shootouts, Cammalleri, Jarome has been improving in shootouts, last year I didn't do so well, but the year before did good -- we've got guys that should be able to take care of business," Tanguay said. Hudler has 12 shootout goals in 37 attempts. so it'll be interested to see if Hudler in particular can be the difference maker a couple times this season.
