The Sabres have agreed to sign Jochen Hecht to a one-year deal, according to the German club Adler Mannheim.
Hecht played in six games, recording 13 points, with the team during the lockout. The center participated in just 22 games last year because of concussions and will provide the Sabres with much-needed depth up the middle. Teams can't officially sign players until the CBA is ratified, and that should come early Saturday.
