The Flyers are interested in Roberto Luongo, according to Enrico Ciccone of TVA Sports.
TSN's James Duthie and the Denver Post's Adrian Dater have since confirmed this report. Dater characterizes the Flyers as "very interested." The obvious problem here is that Ilya Bryzgalov still has eight years and $41 million remaining on his deal. If he doesn't shape up this season, the Flyers could use a compliance buyout on him in June. Luongo has 10 years, $47.3 million left on his deal. Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren denied the rumors to the Philadelphia Daily News' Frank Seravalli: "That made me chuckle. Safe to say they aren't true. They have no basis or merit."
