Dave Nonis will serve as Toronto's new GM

Dave Nonis will take over as the new General Manager and Senior Vice President of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In a shocking move, with the NHL regular season finally about to start, the Leafs fired Brian Burke on Wednesday. However, Burke will stay with the organization as a senior advisor. Nonis, who was Burke's assistant, served as the GM for the Vancouver Canucks for four years after Burke was let go there as well.
