Oliver Ekman-Larsson is en route from the American Hockey League to Phoenix to have an injury checked out by team doctors, Coyotes general manager Don Maloney said.
Ekman-Larsson took a puck off the foot and had been out for the past few games. The bone bruise isn't pegged to be too serious. "He probably could be playing, but we said, 'At this stage, let's get him back,'" Maloney said. "Let's get our own people look at him and make sure he's 100 percent, and why risk it?"
