Athletics to use Eric Chavez as primary DH

Jack Cust was told Saturday that the A's want to use Eric Chavez as their primary designated hitter this season.
The A's have really come around on Chavez after nearly writing him off at the beginning of spring training. He now carries substantial value in AL-only leagues, especially if he manages to stay off the disabled list. Chavez went 11-for-47 this spring with two homers and five RBI.
