Jack Cust to be designated for assignment?

The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser suspects that Jack Cust may be designated for assignment shortly.
The A's made a flurry of interesting roster moves Saturday, including hanging roster spots to both Travis Buck and Jake Fox. Somebody from the current 25-man makeup must go. Cust, 31, hit .240/.356/.417 with 25 homers and 70 RBI last season and was re-signed to a $2.65 million contract this winter. If he is indeed DFA'd, interest will be fairly high from other clubs.
