Jordan Binnington could get the nod for Canada in the bronze-medal game at the World Junior Championship on Saturday versus Russia.
Shortly after Canada's 5-1 loss to the United States in the semifinals on Thursday coach Steve Spott said, "I don't want to make that decision yet. We'll sit down and make that decision (as a staff)." Binnington made his first appearance for the Canada at the tournament in relief of Malcolm Subban, who allowed four goals on 16 shots, and stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced. Subban was in goal for Canada's 4-1 victory over Russia during the preliminary round though. The St. Louis Blues prospect wasn't guaranteed the start by any means, but the door does appear to be open for him to get the call.
