Baertschi (neck) takes part in full practice
Sven Baertschi - W - Calgary Flames
Jan. 3, 2013 - 9:35 AM ET

Sven Baertschi (neck) was able to fully participate in the AHL Abbotsford Heat's practice on Wednesday.

Baertschi hasn't played since Nov. 30 due to the injury. Before that he had 11 goals and 17 points in 19 AHL contests. "He's probably, to some degree, frustrated with how cautious and conservative we've been, because I really feel no rush or compulsion to put him back in any sort of fray until we're certain that he's fully healed and recovered and feeling 100%," Calgary Flames assistant GM John Weisbrod said. "Being a young guy who's anxious to play hockey, he's obviously, 'Go, go, go. I feel great.' But we're taking the conservative route." Look for Baertschi to be called up if the CBA negotiations go well and the NHL season starts in the coming weeks.
