"You get a guy who just won a Stanley Cup last season with Los Angeles; he's 25 years old, a great player, a power play guy who will really help our blueline," coach Steve Martinson said. The Los Angeles defenseman lives in Allen during the off-season he brought the Stanley Cup back there over the summer. Martinez was hurt while playing in Finland back in November when a puck hit him in the face, but he appears to be fine now since he's projected to make his debut on Monday night against Quad City.
