Boone Jenner returns to Canada's lineup
Boone Jenner - C - Columbus Blue Jackets
Dec. 31, 2012 - 4:35 PM ET

Boone Jenner returned from his three-game ban on Monday in Canada's 4-1 win over Russia in world junior play.

He was suspended for a pre-tournament hit on Sweden's Jesper Pettersson and finally got to play in his first game. Team Canada coach Steve Spott was glad to have him back in the lineup and his return to active duty gives the Canadians 13 forwards to work with again. "He brings more of a forecheck presence," Spott said. "We want to be an aggressive team on the forecheck and he gives you that element. He's going to be a tremendous leader one day for the Blue Jackets, and he is a tremendous leader for us right now." He didn't score in the match, but won nine of 16 faceoffs, was credited with four shots and of course threw some hits.
