Cliff Lee to appeal five-game suspension

Cliff Lee is appealing the five game suspension handed down for his conduct during Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
No real surprise there. If the suspension is lowered to four games or less, the Mariners would just have to rearrange their rotation for the first week of the season. Lee was suspended for throwing at Diamondbacks' catcher twice during Monday's contest.
