Dodgers manager Joe Torre said he plans to name his starting second baseman later this week.
Torre said he hasn't yet "annointed" Blake DeWitt for the job, but his .360/.467/.600 batting line in 26 at-bats is pretty hard to ignore. If Torre chooses DeWitt, as expected, newly-inked utility man Jamey Carroll would start against left-handed pitching. Ronnie Belliard has become an afterthought.
