Red Sox send LHP Richardson to minors

Red Sox optioned LHP Dustin Richardson from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Richardson was being considered as a second left-hander out of the bullpen, however he allowed three runs in 1 2/3 innings of exhibition action. The 26-year-old was 2-2 with a 2.55 ERA in 74 innings between Double-A and Triple-A last season and tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings as a September call-up. He could still be in line for an in-season promotion.
