Justin Duchscherer (back) "felt good physically" after pitching three innings in a minor league intersquad game on Wednesday.

Duchscherer, who has been sidelined for the early part of the exhibition schedule after undergoing a minor back procedure, tossed 45 pitches during the outing, most of them fastballs. "I felt sharp enough to where I could be ready for a game," said Duchscherer. "That's our goal. It's hard to say, but this is the best I've felt in spring in a long time. There are no setbacks right now. Ever since the procedure, my back feels good, and my elbow feels great -- the best it's felt in years." Duchscherer, who still believes he'll be ready to go in April, is tentatively scheduled to make his Cactus League debut against the Mariners on Monday.
