Jim Furyk: Furyk returns for a second straight year but has not had much success at this course in two appearances (tied for 52nd, missed cut). His iron-play was his Achilles heel in '09, and '10 is starting in the same direction. It has been over two years since he won an event on the PGA Tour (he won the Chevron Challenge last December), and he is losing ground to the young guns on the PGA and European Tours ... 26+
Ian Poulter: This pains me to include Poulter in this spot, but two average finishes in stroke-play events thus far in '10 are concerning. His victory at the WGC-Match Play was a great breakthrough, but he has to put four great rounds together, and he is not doing that right now ... 36+
Sergio Garcia: Garcia shows signs that his ball-striking is back to top form, and then there are times he is hitting it all over the reservation. If he does start hitting greens again with regularity, I am afraid his putter or wedge will let him down ... 46+
Rory Sabbatini: This person is an enigma, and I have no idea what you might get out of him week-to-week, but he has missed three-straight cuts. His best finish at this event is a tie for 62nd ... 46+
Adam Scott: It’s hard to realize, but this person has eight PGA Tour victories and six European Tour victories. His iron-play and putting are woefully bad, but there are times when you think he might turn the corner. We will monitor his progress, but he is not worthy of your lineup just yet ... 46+
Aaron Baddeley: The Australian is going in the wrong direction with his game, and his ball-striking needs a tourniquet to stop the bleeding ... MC+
Sleepers
Matt Every: The University of Florida product is familiar with this course and Florida conditions even though he has never played Copperhead in a PGA Tour event. Every is brash and is backing it up right now with four top-30 finishes in five starts. He is hitting his irons and driver nicely and should play well this week. This is a very deep field, and you might find it tough to get him in your lineup, but you can do a lot worse ... Top 15
K.J. Choi: Hard to have the seven-time PGA Tour winner in the sleeper category, but ignore where he is in this format and concentrate on his attributes and performance thus far in '10. Choi finished second at the European Tour's Maybank Malaysian Open in his last start. You might say that his strong performance does not translate to the PGA Tour, but his birdie on the final hole to force the action was enough proof for me. Add that to his ties for 20th and 21st in his last two PGA Tour starts and it looks like the South Korean is working his way back to top-form. I am most impressed with his tie for fourth in ball-striking thus far in '10, and I am going to overlook his shaky putter this week and take a flier on the two-time winner of this event ... Top 15

Due to the rain delay, the Puerto Rico Open concluded its championship on Monday, and we saw PGA Tour rookie Derek Lamely record his first PGA Tour victory. He finished fourth on the Nationwide Tour money list, and his lone win and a pair of runner-up finishes in '09 secured his PGA Tour card for the '10 season. He has shown signs of what got him onto the PGA Tour in '10, but nothing indicated he was ready to break through. This win secures him a spot on the PGA Tour for two more years but does not secure a spot in the Masters.
He can really move it off the tee, and his putter is very streaky. Inconsistent iron-play holds him back at times, but Lamely now will become a common name in fantasy circles. We will have to monitor his results in the coming weeks to discern if Lamely is going to be a consistent producer. The Nationwide Report in my weekly "Fantasy Scorecard" highlights the prospects on the Nationwide Tour, and this will allow us to be more aware of the rookies like Lamely heading to the PGA Tour in '11.
