Veteran Brad Smyth is playing for the Denver Cutthroats of the CHL.
Smyth has played in 1,307 games over 20 seasons in the NHL, minors and Europe and is now a player and assistant coach for his friend Derek Armstrong. Smyth played overseas in the last five years and at age 39 decided to return to North America where he has 14 goals and 31 points in 25 games. "This could be where I really start thinking about the future, laying down some roots," Smyth said. "I'm really happy here right now. But I've learned for sure: You never get too comfortable in this business."
