Yankees send Noesi to Tampa

Yankees optioned RHP Hector Noesi to High-A Tampa.
It may have been a procedural move, as Noesi is expected to begin the season with Tampa. The 23-year-old allowed five runs -- three earned -- in two innings of work this spring. He compiled a 2.92 ERA and 0.95 WHIP in 26 games (20 starts) between Class A Charleston and High-A Tampa last season. He averaged 8.7 K/9 and 0.9 BB/9 in 41 1/3 innings with Tampa, suggesting that he's ready for the jump to Double-A.
