Edmonton might have an easier time winning back their fans than most cities following the lockout.
The reason for that is the Oilers are a young team that seem to be on the cusp of a new dynasty. During the lockout, defenseman Justin Schultz has excelled in the AHL and established himself among Edmonton's growing list of young, core players. On top of that, the Oilers are rare among the NHL in a good chunk of their core got to play together in the minors. That might aide them in a shortened season.
