Roy looks forward to skating with AHL Texas

Derek Roy (shoulder) is looking forward to practicing with the AHL Texas Stars as he nears the end of his recovery.
He should join the Texas Stars by the end of the week. "I think it's a great opportunity for me on a lot of levels," Roy said. "First, I get to test the shoulder and get to push my workouts. Second, I get to see some of the guys who I might be playing with up here and get to know them a little better." Because of the lockout he will not be able to play for Texas despite the fact that he'll be practicing with them. Still, this lockout has allowed him to recover from his summer surgery without missing a single NHL game.
