Talks between a select group of players and owners Tuesday in New York have given some people reason for optimism.
No official word has come out about the results of the discussion, though the two sides have met for more than seven hours to attempt resolution of the stalemate resulting from the ongoing work stoppage. Sidney Crosby and Jonathan Toews were among the players present for the meeting. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is expected to hold a press conference at 1pm EST Wednesday to provide greater insight into the situation.
