Sweden wants Mika Zibanejad to play in WJC
Mika Zibanejad - C - Ottawa Senators
Dec. 4, 2012 - 12:10 PM ET

Team Sweden coach Roger Ronnberg is upset with the Ottawa Senators for not making Mika Zibanejad available to play in the 2013 World Junior Championship.

"It is sad that Europeans always have to be on our backs for them over there and that they can dictate and decide about these tournaments," said Ronnberg. "They (North Americans) are pretty stubborn. It's a game of power against Europe, this." The Swedish Ice Hockey Federation is expected to examine its options to possibly overturn the Senators' decision. Zibanejad is currently playing with Binghamton, where he has notched one goal and six assists in 16 minor-league games.
