Alex Ovechkin told Igor Fain of Russia's VM Daily that he intends to return to the NHL once the lockout ends.
In a translated piece, the Washington captain said, "certainly," when asked if he would come back to the NHL as soon as possible once the lockout is over. Ovechkin continued: "I am very comfortable in Moscow, Russia in general, but my soul is across the ocean, in the NHL, with Washington Capitals, with whom I still hope to win the Stanley Cup." He suggested multiple times that he and others might remain in the KHL if a new CBA reduced existing contracts, but he appears to softening on that stance now.
