Bettman suggests players/owners-only meeting

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has suggested that the players and owners hold a private CBA meeting without the involvement of the league or union.

That would give both sides the opportunity to speak with each other directly. The union is considering the NHL's offer. This all comes as a small silver lining after the federal mediators failed to push the two sides closer to a new CBA.
