Fredrik Claesson learning North American game
Fredrik Claesson - D - Ottawa Senators
Nov. 25, 2012 - 9:35 AM ET

Binghamtom Senators defenseman Fredrik Claesson is adjusting well to the North American style of play.

Claesson was Ottawa's fifth-round pick in the 2011 draft, but rather than spend another season in the Swedish Elite League, he expressed desire to play in the AHL to learn how hockey is played on this side of the pond. With no goals and five assists in 14 games, he's not exactly reminding anyone of Bobby Orr, but thanks to his size and toughness he could carve out a role as a shutdown rearguard with Ottawa.
