Edmonton Oilers prospect Oscar Klefbom may need surgery on his injured shoulder and if he does, it will sideline him for the rest of the season.
Klefbom was injured a month ago when he fell reaching for the puck and was hit at the same time. He will be looked at by his Swedish doctors as well as the Oilers medical staff before a decision is made. "If the decision is surgery I will be out six months and playing more this season is out of the question," Klefbom said. "If that's the case it's just for me to start focusing on the next season." The highly-regarded rearguard had three assists in 11 games with Farjestad of the SEL before the injury. He was the 19th overall pick in the 2011 Draft and is still looking to make the journey to crack the Oilers lineup next season.
