Vigneault has thoughts about short season
Alain Vigneault - C - Vancouver Canucks
Nov. 18, 2012 - 9:35 AM ET

Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault isn't sure how his team would fare in a potential shortened NHL season.

"Every team is going to be in new territory as far as the compressed schedule," Vigneault said. "But being where we are in Vancouver, it's always a lot more challenging than it is for teams out east." Vigneault also spoke about the potential for injury, saying "Every organization is going to need a tremendous amount of depth. You're going to need to play your bench. In situations where you get four games in six nights, you have to play all your people. That's the only way you can get by." It's hard to disagree with the Vancouver bench boss on this, as the natural attrition teams will likely face will be a major hurdle all have to overcome.
