Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Fedor Tyutin has signed to play for Oblast Atlant in the Continental Hockey League (KHL), Russia's top league.

Tyutin, who has spent four seasons in Columbus, joins former Blue Jackets players Nikolai Zherdev and Maksim Mayorov, as well as former Blue Jackets draft pick Dmitry Kosmachev (No. 71 overall in 2003) with Atlant. Small world, hockey: Tyutin was traded to the Blue Jackets from the New York Rangers for Zherdev in July 2008, and Mayorov was a house guest of the Tyutins during training camp last fall. The Blue Jackets now have five players playing for pro clubs during the lockout. The others are: Sergei Bobrovsky (St. Petersburg, KHL); Nikita Nikitin (Omsk Avangard, KHL); Artem Anisimov (Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, KHL); and Brandon Dubinsky (Alaska Aces, ECHL).
