Dustin Byfuglien ties a career-high in goals
Dustin Byfuglien - D - Atlanta Thrashers
March 4, 2011 - 9:50 AM ET

Dustin Byfuglien tied his career-high when he scored his 19th goal on Thursday.

Byfuglien spent the better part of his three-plus seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks as a winger, but Atlanta allowed him to shift back to the blueline after they acquired him. Byfuglien has rewarded them with his best offensive season so far, recording 46 points in 65 games. He leads all defenseman in goals and is tied for fifth place in points, although he has cooled down considerable since December with just six points in his last 24 games. If he can't turn things around in March, then he should be regarded as a considerable gamble to put up similar numbers in 2011-12.
