Report: Mark Mulder opts for retirement

Mark Mulder has decided to retire, according to Lance Allan of TMJ4 in Milwaukee.
Mulder flirted with the idea of joining his former pitching coach Rick Peterson in Milwaukee this offseason. A career derailed by shoulder problems, the 32-year-old left-hander hasn't pitched a full season in the big leagues since 2005. If the report is true, he'll hang up his cleats with a career record of 103-60 to go along with a 4.18 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over nine seasons with the Athletics and Cardinals.
