Braves offer Damon deffered one-year deal

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the one-year contract the Braves have offered free agent outfielder Johnny Damon includes deferred money.
There's definitely mutual interest at this point, with Chipper Jones advocating the signing, but Bowman adds that "baseball insiders" believe Damon will still end up signing elsewhere. This suggests that perhaps he has more guaranteed money on the table elsewhere, or possibly even the two-year deal he desires. Stay tuned.
