Jimmy Howard kicked out 35 of 39 shots in a 7-4 victory Monday against the Los Angeles Kings.
This is an annoying outing for Howard's fantasy owners because he was good when Detroit needed him to be, but his numbers still leave plenty to be desired. He turned aside 13 of 14 Kings' shots in the first period, helping Detroit take an early 3-1 lead and he was perfect in the second period. However, with Detroit up 7-1, Howard allowed three goals in the final 10 minutes of the contest. His teammates are probably willing to shrug off his late game struggles given the circumstances, but his fantasy owners are probably a bit more bitter.
