Anssi Salmela almost certainly has a concussion after being taken off the ice on a stretcher in the second period of Monday's game.
Salmela was hit in the head during a shoulder check by Philadelphia's Jeff Carter. Salmela scored a shorthanded goal around the same time as the hit, but he initially couldn't remember. "I didn't remember at first," Salmela said. "Now I remember a little more clearly. Maybe I have to watch it. I think I shot it at the same time (of the hit), so I didn't see (the goal)." Samela admitted that it is "kind of scary" to not remember everything, but he said he thinks he's okay other than a headache. Salmela is expected to be re-evaluated on Tuesday. We'll keep you posted.
