Cliff Lee underwent minor surgery Monday to remove a loose bone spur in his left foot, according to the Tacoma News Tribune's Ryan Divish.
Lee pitched well into the 2009 postseason and showed no foot issues, so it's probably safe to trust that the procedure was indeed minor. The 31-year-old was 14-13 with a 3.22 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and six complete games between the Indians and Phillies last year. He's expected to resume baseball activities in two-to-three weeks and should be fine by Opening Day.
