Dodgers signed OF Brian Giles to a minor league contract.
The deal comes with an invitation to spring training, where Giles will try to win a spot on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster as a pinch-hitting lefty or fifth outfielder. It might be a tough task, considering Reed Joshnson, Jason Repko and Xavier Paul will also be in camp. Giles, 39, just .191/.277/.271 in 225 at-bats for the Padres last season. He has zero fantasy potential.
