According to a report at FOXNews.com, Tiger Woods is not expected to compete in the WGC-Match Play on Feb. 17-21.
You saw this coming we're sure. More unnamed "sources" continue to speculate on Woods' schedule. If Woods ever returns to competitive golf, he will most likely issue a press release on his web site, just as he did a year ago after returning from reconstructive knee surgery. There is a chance that a tournament director will learn ahead of the press, but Woods would likely still announce the news first. Phil Mickelson has already stated that he will not compete in the Match Play, so Steve Stricker or Lee Westwood would likely assume the role as the #1 overall seed. The Official World Golf Ranking on Monday, Feb. 8, will determine the brackets.
