Report: Leafs 'Hockeyville' game scrapped
Todd Richards - C - Columbus Blue Jackets
Sept. 19, 2012 - 10:10 AM ET

A preseason game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs has been reportedly canceled.

The October 3 game was set to take place in Stirling-Rawdon, Ontario. The town's population is around 5,000 and they were going to host the game after winning the annual Kraft's Hockeyville celebration. "I've been talking about this for a month, what a kick in the pants it is," Stirling-Rawdon mayor Rodney Cooney told The Ottawa Citizen. "It is pretty bad. You win it and something like this happens." Still, they've been told that they will host a game in 2013 instead.
