Adam McQuaid spent Thursday's game in the press box.
Bruins coach Claude Julien gave McQuaid a game off because he was banged up, but he made it clear that McQuaid was healthy enough to play if asked. "If we didn't have Ference, he'd be in the lineup," said Julien, referring to the fact that Ference returned Thursday after being sidelined for three games with an upper body injury. "It's one of those situations where you have healthy guys, so now you give [McQuaid] an opportunity to be healthy by giving him a little bit of time off. I don't think there's too many players that play at 100 percent anymore."
