Carolina GM Jim Rutherford announced Wednesday morning that Jeff Skinner has re-upped with the team on a six-year contract extension.
He did not discuss the financial terms, but according to TSN the deal is reportedly worth an average annual value of $5.725 million. "He's a player that everybody knows was rookie of the year and he has a great future in front of him," said Rutherford. "We thank him for making that commitment to be with the Hurricanes." He also commented that the team isn't concerned with the concussion Skinner suffered last year that hindered his sophomore season and that he is 100 percent.
