According to John Gambadoro of Sports 620 KTAR Phoenix's sources, Shane Doan has been offered a four-year deal in excess of $30 million by an Eastern Conference team.
As good as Doan is, that's a dangerous amount of money to tie down to a player that will turn 36 in October. That being said, there are plenty of teams well under the cap, so it's entirely possible that the mystery squad can easily handle the cap hit. Previously reports have suggested that Doan wants to stay in the Western Conference, but he might change his mind for that kind of money.
