Hartnell wants to sign a contract extension

Scott Hartnell is hoping to sign a contract extension with the Philadelphia Flyers.
"Scott would welcome coming back; he loves it in Philadelphia," Hartnell's agent, Matt Oates, said. "But we haven't had any contact with the Flyers just yet." The sticking point might be that Hartnell is coming off a career season where he scored 37 goals and 67 points in 82 games. The Philadelphia Flyers might want to wait to see if he can replicate that kind of success before determining what's fair value for him. Hartnell is currently scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
