Report: Red Sox haven't shut door on Holliday
Matt Holliday - OF - St Louis Cardinals
Dec. 23, 2009 - 11:45 PM ET

According to Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald, the Red Sox "have not completely shut the door on re-engaging" in talks with Matt Holliday.

The Red Sox are also keeping a line of communication open with Jason Bay. Boston GM Theo Epstein and Co. have already made offers to both free agents but the proposals have so far been rejected. Holliday, who turns 30 in January, hit .313/.394/.515 in 2009 with 24 home runs and 104 RBI. He currently has an offer on the table from the Cardinals.
