Delgado not yet ready to begin winter ball

Carlos Delgado (hip) has not yet begun participating in winter ball and could wait until the middle of next month.
That will certainly hurt his chances of landing a deal with a club before the end of the year. Delgado, a free agent, was expected to get going with winter ball in mid-December but he wants to make sure his hip is totally healed. The 37-year-old was limited to 26 games in 2009, though he did hit .298/.393/.521 with four home runs and 23 RBI when healthy.
